    Default Larry and Linn Pardey

This months issue of Cruising World has a very poignant article by Lin explaining Larry's current condition and the reasons as to why she is cruising on a boat that she and Larry did not build.

Sail on, sail on, sail on my friends!

I checked on their house and her boat last week. Boat cover, doors, windows and so on. I know that their neighbours do too, but when I go past I make a point of noting any issues.

Sad to see Larry in a care facility, but good to see that Lin is getting on with life.

Man, I really enjoyed meeting them and talking about their boat. I sortof felt like the BFG on those settees. Haha.

They were a charming couple of folks, to us.

    Peace,
    Robert

This was the last time I saw Larry. He just dropped by and helped sand a bit of varnish on "Bright Star"

when I saw them last at the WBF in Hobart, Tasmania (I think it was in 2013) I noticed Lin was doing the speaking and Larry was sitting off to the side looking I must say, rather forlorn. Given I suppose, my medical background, I was able to discern that something was not quite right with Larry. Back then I suspected something had taken a hold of him and it saddened me to see such a vibrant man lost in life...

a nice photo Jay...these sorts of images and the memories they bring back are the simply the best.

    Here's to a life well-lived.

    Best wishes, sir!

There are two kinds of boaters: those who have run aground, and those who lie about it.
