Default Something is VERY fishy, in Broward County

    It just doesn't seem right:

Nathaniel Rakich: “Unusually, the votes tabulated in Broward County so far exhibit a high rate of something called ‘undervoting,’ or not voting in all the races on the ballot. Countywide, 26,060 fewer votes were cast in the U.S. Senate race than in the governor race. Put another way, turnout in the Senate race was 3.7 percent lower than in the gubernatorial race.”
“Broward County’s undervote rate is way out of line with every other county in Florida, which exhibited, at most, a 0.8-percent difference… To put in perspective what an eye-popping number of undervotes that is, more Broward County residents voted for the down-ballot constitutional offices of chief financial officer and state agriculture commissioner than U.S. Senate — an extremely high-profile election in which $181 million was spent. Generally, the higher the elected office, the less likely voters are to skip it on their ballots.”

“Something sure does seem off in Broward County; we just don’t know what yet.”
"Reason and facts are sacrificed to opinion and myth. Demonstrable falsehoods are circulated and recycled as fact. Narrow minded opinion refuses to be subjected to thought and analysis. Too many now subject events to a prefabricated set of interpretations, usually provided by a biased media source. The myth is more comfortable than the often difficult search for truth."

I've been surfing, I've heard a bit! I have heard about the possibilities of having recounts. I suspect the sh*t might hit the wall today. Now, just starting and discussing.

But we have some suspicions, that's for sure.

There is already talk that if Nelson is certified as the winner, the Senate may refuse to seat him. There's your brewing constitutional crisis, people.

So. Why is it that Florida, under Republican administrations for years, with Republican appointees in positions of authority, can't get it's sh!t together? Broward County's electoral counts are under the control of a Jeb Bush appointee, not a crowd of Democrats trying to swing the vote. WTF is going on when since at least the 2000 Presidential election, Broward County in particular and Florida in general has not met the level of competence that would pass muster in Zimbabwe's elections?

This is why the Republicans have tried to sue to stop any recounts.

    Red tide?
Somehow Florida seems to have trouble registering, voting, counting, etc. every year going back a couple of decades; is it that hard?

It is if you only want some folks to have the franchise, and can't be stupidly obvious about it.

Fear is a greater motivator and Republicans are very adept at flinging it.

Scott has prevailed in his suit. The County has been deemed in violation of the state constitution and elections law and has 1 hour to provide their ballot count and then open up the offices for inspection and observation.

We have many problems here. Only identifiable by longer stays than vacations. Once your past 10 days it all becomes crystal clear.

John Kennedy was elected by about 100,000 dead people in Chicago.

I liked JFK, by the way. Just wanted to point out your self-righteous misstatement.

Yea, and the point you're trying to make?Firstly there were no computers in 1960. Secondly, there is now and vote tallies are counted immediately. Close percentages between the candidates are accurate as far as they go but, as not all vs are counted on election day, there are thousands of votes by absentee voting. They haven't been counted yet and in flarida there is at least 1% not voting out of all registered voters.

Another point, when Nixon was asked whether he wanted a recount, he said no, enough is enough, don't tear this country apart.

No, I'm not but, you don't know your US History obviously. I posted an explanation covering what you don't seem to know on the border.

By the way on the border, the person in the lead on election night was a Republican After going through the ballots, want to guess who the new Senator is in Arizona? Not the Republican!

Rick Scott was up by 50,000+ votes on Election Day, now they “found” many votes and he is only up 15,000 votes. “The Broward Effect.” How come they never find Republican votes?

Who is going to answer his question?

Not. The vote was close, but Kennedy got more votes than Nixon.

It appears that the issue was unintended. The layout of a ballot changes depending on how many offices and candidates are on the ballot. In some districts that placed this one office at the bottom of a page following the mandatory instructions. Some people - mostly Democrats, missed it.

    Are you okay with that?
