Default 11 Year Old Boy Shoots His Grandmother Then Himself

So what might the outcome have been here if no gun was available?

An 11-year-old boy shot and killed his grandmother and took his own life in their Arizona home after he was told to clean his room, authorities said.
The violent incident occurred Saturday evening in Litchfield Park, Arizona, a suburb of Phoenix, and was witnessed by the child's grandfather, whose gun was used in the tragedy, according to the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office.

Well that is at least four, perhaps five or more lives f***ed up.
"I can't even fathom what he's feeling and what their other family members are feeling," a neighbor told KNXV of the grandfather. "It breaks my heart that they have to go through this. Life is fleeting at times and I just kept thinking was he one of the little trick-or-treaters that knocked on my door."

I've heard there some very good guns on both sides.

What are you doing about it?

I wonder if he was part of a regulated militia! And all for nothing but, two dead people and the right to possess a gun. When will it be worth having one?

    More insanity.

If only a good guy with a gun was there to stop this bad guy with a gun, everything would have been fine, right? Right?

There was a Good Guy with a Gun, but his grandson found it and used it.

And right up until that happened grandpa probably considered himself a responsible gun owner.

During 1985-1996, of the 35,547 children aged less than 15 years who died in motor-vehicle crashes, 8482 (24%) were killed in alcohol-related motor-vehicle crashes. CDC

I wonder what the outcome would have been if we focused on public health.

An 11 year-old child was able to acquire a gun.

Grandpa should be in jail for the rest of his life.
In the US this perverted idea of “blood and soil” over “constitutional principles” is the most radical and anti-democratic and anti-Conservative idea I have heard in my lifetime.

So, how is he a threat to society now?

Or are you in it for the revenge?

One is dead, the other has lost his life partner. So how would you drive the message home?

It should be much worse while in jail. He lost control of his firearm through negligence. If it's not on your person, lock it up. If not, and someone uses it to commit a crime or suicide, your gun, your jail time, life in prison. Our country needs to take responsibility for their firearms.

So how is locking up a grieving grandfather going to achieve that?

Set an example, there needs to be consequences. We can't get rid of the guns so we need to punish the f234 outta those who misuse them. Negligence is misuse.

Hiding the old guy away isn't going to fix anything. He should be doing community service, in front of every group of people he can contact, telling them why this happened.

What are you doing about it?

I agree but the current method of dealing with these type of gun deaths is not working and guns arn't going anywhere. What is the definition of insanity? We need to stop being insane and start holding people responsible for their firearms.

Follow the Swiss philosophy. Disabled fire arm in one locked storage box, ammo locked in another. Police inspection of the cabinets when you take out your firearms licence.
    Will that fly?

I can already hear the gun loving forumites squealing "Infringement of my LIBERTY".

Well, Granny just had her LIBERTY terminally infringed.

I doubt that there will be any changes at all frankly. The blood tax will continue to be collected.

Of course if Donald writes an EO declaring himself Pres for life then he may want to confiscate all guns because they might pose a threat to himself………………………...

So, prison is a worse thing than a boy blowing hers and his brains out right infront of grandpa? You think jail is a deterrent vs that? You dont seem to grasp the value of other peoples life. Your opinion is invalid.

Jail is, or should be for rehabilitation. I do not think that will apply. Even if it's for revenge it's a bit pointless, revenge for whom?
