Default The end of the 2018 season is here

After one last little trip around Fishers Island sound last Sunday it was time to pull her and bring her home. An end to a good season.

Oh, man, a bit bumpy out there, eh? I really enjoyed visiting onboard back at the WBS in Mystic.

    Bittersweet.

I was out in the 28th, not too far from you and it was certainly kind of, "nautical."

There are two kinds of boaters: those who have run aground, and those who lie about it.

Yes,... a little bumpy,.. she was surprisingly comfortable with it.

I keep her in Pawcatuck CT, just up the river from Watch Hill. Only about 7 miles east of Noank.

Too bad your 2018 season is ending now. Around these parts (California) the 2018 season ends on December 31. We start the 2019 season on January 1.

Bumpy, indeed! On a day like that, I'd be sitting at the dock enjoying a drink.
How does the hull react to "working in the seas"? Any leakage from pounding?
I imagine the next week will involve stripping things down and putting on the winter cover.
I was born on a wooden boat that I built myself.

she was actually quite comfortable. She has a nice easy motion, and We were just taking it easy at about 7-8 knots. Weren’t worried about getting anywhere, just out for a nice end of the season ride.
That wasn’t enough to loosen anything. The bilge pump didn’t seem to cycle any differently afterwards.
She’s home now and covered enough for the rain. The task for the weekend (when the rain stops) is to take the tarp off, finish putting the frame together and covering her for the winter.
