    Lightbulb Spiling

What is the best, most instructive, and easiest to follow, video on spiling planks on a small (under 20'0") boat?

There is no one best method. It depends on the width of plank/number of strakes and if clinker or carvel.
It really is quite difficult to build an ugly wooden boat.

"How to build glued-lapstrake wooden boats" by John Brooks and Ruth Ann Hilll--published by our sponsor. Great descriptions of spiling, can't go wrong.

Don't have to look any further than this forum. Look up Rich Jone's thread on building a Hvalsoe 13; he used battens to build a truss which exactly duplicated the shape of a plank. I shamelessly copied it when spiling planks on my new boat. Works fantastic!
