Question 3/8" Diameter Bead(3/16" r) and Cove router bits?

I see lots of 1/4" diameter(1/8" radius) bead and cove router bits. Does anyone make a 3/8" diameter(3/16"r) bead and cove router bits similar to the standard canoe bits?

I have found that using a bit that has 1.5 times the thickness of the strips as the diameter to be just as effective as the 1:1 that is commonly used while saving a tiny bit of material thus netting wider strips (which could be done by sawing out wider strips) and also avoiding those wicked fragile knife edges.

They have both internal and external bullnose bits, you will need a set, and they also have 1/2 radius bits.

Gib, just to clarify what you're saying . . . . . . . . if I was theoredically using 1/2" thick stock, I would use a bull nose 3/4" radius bit for the bead? Looking at the Lee Valley catalog, I don't see any 3/4" radius cove bits.

1/2" thick times 1.5 = 3/4 diameter, or 3/8 radius. For 3/8 thick planking I would go with the 16J48.58 (1/2" diameter) cutter

I just got a set of the half radius cutters to do 3/4" strips as a base for cold molding. I think I went with the half radius type to accommodate the thicker planking, parts nos. 16J5070/16J4970. That was the biggest available (29/32 radius) and will work.

Lee Valley sells a bead and cove bit in 3/16 radius. Here is a link:
