Simpler is better, except when complicated looks really cool.

Aaaaargghhh! It's Reliant Robin!* People don't go around saying 'ooh, a Mustang Ford'.

*actually that one is a Rialto, not a Robin.

I had a Hillman Imp with a Cooper Climax engine. Didn't go like that!

Although it is not available on 't tinternet, someone shoe horned a massive V block into one and raced it at Santa Pod.
It really is quite difficult to build an ugly wooden boat.

That was impressive! But I'd like to see a down hill run. Our local hill climb used to be a loop and the downhill section was always the real trial. Horsepower is good for up but brakes and handling get more important coming down.

As soon as I saw this thread I realized I would not be the first person to be reminded of the humiliation heaped on the Robin by Clarkson but Id hoped that for once Id beat Joe to the punch. But noooooooo.....
One of the most enduring qualities of an old wooden boat is the smell it imparts to your clothing.

Seems like a perfectly normal car to me. What's unusual about it?

[sarcasm off] I love how many insane (good insane) people there are in the world!
