    Default Science Fiction movies

I'm one of those who thought that the last really good Sci Fi movie was 2001 a Space odyssey. But this one might be worth the price of a ticket.

    Video game meat.

Water world may have been a dog, but likely closer than this. Distopian killing spree movies are all too common.
Wait till they make a film about the time the world as 7-8 degrees hotter and there are no bees.

Yes, but that latter film might not be fictional.

Wasn't that the plot of Mad Max.

My recent favorites have been the 'Firefly' tv series and the movie that came after it, 'Serenity'. Love that stuff.

You would get more for your money by reading the Cities In Flight novels.

Cities In Flight is a four-volume series of science fiction stories by American writer James Blish, originally published between 1950 and 1962, which were first known collectively as the "Okie" novels. The series features entire cities that are able to fly through space using an anti-gravity device, the spindizzy. The stories cover roughly two thousand years, from the very near future to the end of the universe. One story, "Earthman, Come Home" won a Retro Hugo Award in 2004 for Best Novelette. Since 1970, the primary edition has been the omnibus volume first published in paperback by Avon Books.

The Road Warrior. Mad Max was when the bikers killed his wife.

You can’t stop the signal: Firefly fans get to return to Joss Whedon’s sci-fi western ’verse with three new novels from Titan Books! While the adventures of Captain Malcolm Reynolds and the crew of Serenity have lived on far past the television series’ sole season in both the 2005 film Serenity and a number of comic book arcs for the last decade-plus, these are the first original Firefly novels to be published. The three books—the first coming in late 2018—will focus on Mal’s past with the Browncoats, will riff on The Magnificent Seven, and will engage with a popular sci-fi subgenre: generation ships!

True, not really sci-fi - but always worth a mention!
