Do you like the eels? I have seen them on the breakfast buffet in Europe but never gave it a try.

At 5000 - that is a whole lot of sailing fun in a season. 120 day season works out to be $41 a day plus insurance.

In her second year of marine biology studies, my daughter spent a summer doing eel research with the Bluenose Coastal Action Group ( http://coastalaction.org ). I heard more minutia of eel behavior and activities and lifecycle than I ever thought possible. There is no lecturer more enthusiastic than a nineteen-year-old spreading their intellectual wings...

    Fascinating, ain't it?

Except that, after they progress to a certain point in their studies, poor ol' Dad is reduced to merely smiling and nodding as the proto-adult's knowledge and technical vocabulary vastly outpaces the sire's ability to follow along.

Used to be a ditch in the valley here that was full of eels. People caught of them all the time. I didn't, look too much like snakes.

We are seriously short of eels in Europe now, they have been devastated by disease.A piece of trivia;their meat has a higher calorific value than almost any other fish.

We spear eels in the winter, when they go into the mud. Smoked eel makes a fine meal!
    Also makes a nice bait.

I had to look again but dang you're right. Technically, the aft mast is forward of the rudder post. At first glance it looks rather yawly.
