A subscription to The Economist, and a subscription to The Atlantic; typical.

Two of my favourite magazines (and the only two I've ever subscribed to as an adult, other than WB).

    And one awesome kid.

What are you doing about it?

    Better be careful, Dan.

She may end up like me.

    Nice!

Seems pretty serious for a 16 year old, though. Kudos to all concerned, and you might want to get her something fun as well. A sailboat, maybe? <G>

My soon to be16 year old granddaughter has announced to one and all that she wants to attend a 5 week Summer Performance Program at Berklee College of Music, next summer.

She is quite athletic, involved in soccer, skiing, and basketball. The family does a lot of white-water rafting. She's also six feet, two inches tall, and sometimes I wish she wouldn't keep bending over to pat me on the top of my head.

Y'know, young women are getting taller and taller. I'm 6-2, and I regularly see young women my height; never happened when I was young.

And here I was thinking along the lines of a new iPhone.
