    Default New Women's World Champion

    Paige Bjerkaas

The young lady in yellow is Paige Pierce. Paige Pierce was the former World Champion that Bjerkaas beat for the title. Pierce took second place.

I have a niece who plays frisbee in a university team. She says she's just in it for the Nationals which are basically a week of booze and sex funded by the University clubs and associations budget.

Simpler is better, except when complicated looks really cool.

Cool. I played Ultimate back when. Only disc golfed once, much later in life, while on business with an avid player. Not my bag.

I didn't even know Oregon HAD a disc golf team. And they're 22nd in the nation. Well... bless 'em one and all. I've never played it. The mob that did were not my normal sort to hang with. I did play a bit of informal rugby. That was more up my alley. Even played some pickup games of soccer - but not enough that I ever understood the strategy... or even all the rules <G>

What gets me is that I've seen video of Paige Pierce throwing a disc 400 feet. She probably weighs about 125 pounds. I doubt that I have ever thrown one over 200 feet. Not many men can out throw her and probably no one pound for pound.
    This one is downhill.
