Very nice, but I could never even think about it without thinking about the upkeep.

Had money. Fixed that for you.
    Sweet boat, nonetheless.

What's the saying, "Start with a large fortune..."? The Fairlie website says they're in Port Hamble, Hampshire, UK.

    Yes, that is at Fairlies:

    https://www.fairlieyachts.com/

and if you have real money, they will restore your Fife to the original drawings, or if you really have money, and taste, they will build you a new Fife to the original drawings - there are several "unbuilt" ones - but that will cost you a whole lot more.

fairlie had closed and gone into receivership for a while, are they back open for business?
Simpler is better, except when complicated looks really cool.

    That's normal for boat builders.

It's funny. YouTube has been throwing that video at me Forever, and I didn't watch it until just now. Thanks for the tip!

Not an issue, if you have the money to build the boat. It's just about scheduling so that the maintenance doesn't interfere with your sailing plans. That can be a bit annoying.

Of course if you don't have money there is no need to worry about details of the build, no need to worry about maintenance, and no interference with sailing plans whatsoever... sigh... oh to be free of money.

A well built timber boat using modern coatings and glue does not need more maintenance than a glass one, you have to be a bit more careful of dings but given what this would have cost I am sure the boatmaster would take care of that for you and make sure the fridge was well stocked with frothy beverages.
