Default Underside of cargo trailer floor

I am painting some rusty spots on the underside grams of my newly acquired used cargo trailer. Should I put anything on the underside of the plywood floor? Latex paint or rubberized sealant or linseed oil? Seems like unprotected wood.

    Any advice appreciated.

    Thanks

    Tom

Tom, some years back, I had a WW horse trailer and a 5' x 8' flatbed trailer on which I replaced the wood floors - 2 x 8 on the horse trailer and treated plywood on the flatbed. As part of the repair, I painted the underside of the new wood with rubberized undercoating in a spray can. The wood lasted much longer than the previous untreated floor had.

Thanks Rick. Strangely, not discussed much on the internet.

I used truck bed liner from a can. Works well.

I think cargo trailer floors are generally thought of as replaceable when used as cargo trailers.
There is nothing quite as permanent as a good temporary repair.
