Default Not bothering to watch Trump's announcement for SCOTUS Nominee

It's a little private protest on my part, to not watch one wretched a-hole nominate another anti-Roe/Wade a-hole when I could (and will) be listening to classical music with a glass of cabernet in-hand. There will be all too much news analysis on Tuesday about who the a-hole picked.

I will be doing something deliriously transcendental with a few ounces of ardent spirits and defiant toasts.

In the words of the last president,

“elections have consequences,” and, in case there was any doubt, “I won.”

Save the whining for when Trump replaces Ginsberg.

Trump can stuff his Reality TV hump-de-dumpf.

What other president made a Supreme Court appointment announcement by turning it into a reality show? Despicable. I won't be watching. I never watch that man as his very image sickens me.

Think about it for just one minute. We have a president under investigation, the very legitimacy of his presidency in question, who is changing the judicial system of this country for decades to come. There is something deeply flawed about this.

Oh really? If it's true, Trump only won with Putin's help and Comey. He couldn't win an election for dog catcher without lying to the people every friggin' day. He might win if the election was for Pussy Catcher if you take into account his experience

Hillary's election would have been legitimate, not like Trump's. That's the point I'm trying to make. This Supreme Court opening should be left vacant until Trump is cleared or removed from office. McConnell had no problem leaving a seat open for almost a year so he could steal it from Obama.

President Trump is set to announce his Supreme Court nominee to replace the retiring Justice Anthony M. Kennedy at 9 p.m. Monday.

    • Mr. Trump is deciding among four finalists, all federal appellate judges: Amy Coney Barrett of the Seventh Circuit, Brett M. Kavanaugh of the District of Columbia Circuit, Raymond M. Kethledge of the Sixth Circuit and Thomas M. Hardiman of the Third Circuit. All four were on a list of 25 candidates the White House compiled with input from the conservative Federalist Society and Heritage Foundation.

    • Mr. Trump considers the pick a key moment of his presidency, and was pushing his decision into the final hours before his self-imposed Monday night announcement deadline.
Trump expressed renewed interest in Hardiman as he continued weighing the finalists.

On Sunday, The New York Times reported that Mr. Trump had expressed renewed interest in nominating Judge Hardiman, who was the runner-up to Judge Neil M. Gorsuch as the president’s first Supreme Court nominee in January 2017.
Mr. Trump was inspired by Judge Hardiman’s biography, according to people close to the process, and has considered the recommendation of his sister, Judge Maryanne Trump Barry, who served with Judge Hardiman on the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.
The media(both sides) will be all over it tonight and tomorrow.

The choice is anti-climactic.... it will be a hard core conservative, plain and simple.... and the Democrats probably will NOT be able to prevent a hearing and a vote. I don't see why the specific choice is of any interest, whatsoever.

I can think of more interesting things to watch, other than the announcement.
"Reason and facts are sacrificed to opinion and myth. Demonstrable falsehoods are circulated and recycled as fact. Narrow minded opinion refuses to be subjected to thought and analysis. Too many now subject events to a prefabricated set of interpretations, usually provided by a biased media source. The myth is more comfortable than the often difficult search for truth."

MSNBC’s Morning Joe co-host Joe Scarborough addressed public outrage over President Donald Trump’s list of nominees to replace retiring Justice Anthony Kennedy—expected to shift the Supreme Court ideological balance in his favor—by placing the blame Thursday on his 2016 election opponent Hillary Clinton.

Holding up a copy of The New York Times front page with the headline, “Trump Set to Tilt Court as Kennedy Retires,” Scarborough said, “Yesterday there were several people who were shocked at this news, and quite a few people actually with blue check marks by their name, saying this was the bleakest moment in their lives and they didn’t know how they were going to move forward with it.”

“There are many things that Donald Trump does that we criticize and talk about, cause great concern and they are actually violations of constitutional norms,” Scarborough continued, after referencing verified Twitter users with the blue check mark. “Just for our friends who are suggesting the same here, when you elect presidents, this is what happens.”

Then Scarborough, who is a former Republican House representative and frequent Trump critic, took a stab at Clinton.

“When Hillary Clinton didn’t visit Wisconsin and didn’t visit Michigan enough, and when we saw a young woman yesterday with a campaign message that was more inspiring in three minutes than what Hillary Clinton gave us in two years,” Scarborough said, “They can complain about Internet this and that and the press did this and they should have done that, but the fact is, Hillary never had a message.”

“She ran a horrible campaign, and this is the consequence of it, is it not?” he concluded. “I mean, what Donald Trump did yesterday is what presidents do.”

Scarborough in his comparison was referencing 28-year-old Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who unseated Democratic Rep. Joe Crowley earlier in the week in a New York primary..

I think Trump already has a monopoly on that. But, if Putin tells Trump to jump, Trump just asks how high?

That's one time and it made the news because it was one time, Thomas is always asleep. He does his best work at sleep. Actually, his only work.It never makes the news.
