    Its simple enough to set things up so everyone can play..... picnic rules are a class. Other single handers that are too long are another.

    In your book, 87 Boat Designs: A Catalogue of Small Boat Plans from Mystic Seaport, there's a 16' 2" row pod that might fit the bill. Wider waterline than a flashboat, but the rounded sections should give lower wetted surface.
