Nah, flipping a coin you don't get - Player misses the goal completely, stubs their toe in the turf and falls over the ball, or a fantastic diving save by the keeper.
Having said that, I find shootouts very nerve-racking and I always hope the game will be won in open play.

    France wins!

croatia may have been a better team. Nice to see the multicolor multi ethnic French triumph.

Can you keep your crap American politics away from other events in the world? Thanking you in advance, although I know it is a useless request.

France gets the win with a classic dive and the most ridiculous penalty I think I've seen. Sensible refereeing would have provided a much better game. Croatia played really well and should have won that. The referee needs to read the rules.

Watching this thing over the last month I actually thought that Belgium and France were the best two teams. Congratulations to France and my man Hugo Lloris, and of course to all of the competitors on a magnificent tournament.

I thought it was a great tournament and, overall, I think the VAR was a success. I think the best two teams made the final. I would like to have seen the final decided by football rather than bad refereeing. Just my view and the same could be said of lots of games, of course. I like France and am happy that they won - I thought Croatia played really well with great heart and didn't deserve to be knocked out by the ref. Of course they may have been beaten anyway - France have some amazing players!
