Default Please post locations where you can find Boating Jobs

When I retire I am thinking I will do some kind of part time Boating job.
So I though others may also want to do the same.

Lets start a list of places you can find Boating jobs.

Here is an interesting website for mostly short term boating jobs.

My town hires seasonal personnel to run the pumpout boats part time and in season. Basically, these boats cruise/ idle around the bay and are on standby to come to vessels and pump out their waste holding tanks. You need a license ( launch license, I believe, relatively easy to get). These are filled by retirees, from what I see.

Also, we have an aquarium nearby that runs excursion boats ( small, about 30 foot pontoon boat with a canopy) for people to go out on the bay with biologists and study/ explore/ observe. This, too, is seasonal and part time. ( They have full-time capts, but need coverage for vacations and sick days) Need a masters license for that one.

Similar opportunities are likely available elsewhere.

At the other end of the spectrum, retirees seem to also work at West Marine.

There are two kinds of boaters: those who have run aground, and those who lie about it.

Also some of the exchange work sites, not specifically boat oriented, but sometimes hosts are live-aboarders needing hands...all over the world... HelpX is one .

I am a Small Craft Operator with the National Park Service. We have 4 licensed captains and two deckhands here at Glacier Bay National Park. usajobs.gov is the place to find captain and deckhand positions with all agencies of the Federal Gov't. There are seasonal positions and full time positions all over the USA.

how do you feel about cleaning and repainting antifoul?
Simpler is better, except when complicated looks really cool.
