    Default Soft shackles

    soft shackle
The shackles that I make are not in the "fancy work" category but they are functional and easy to make. An Overhand knot at one end pushes through and slides along a loop at the other. Useful for securing items or hanging items from hooks or a belt

Taking advice here I use a soft shackle for attaching my two jibs to the sheets on my dory skiff -- only had it come undone once in 10+ years of active sailing.
