    Default What's in yours?

I need a First Aid kit on my boat. . . . a day sailor only.

What is in your First Aid kit on your boat?

Do you consider it the minimum to carry?
Enjoy a good rum on the rocks at sunset.

Sanitary napkins to be used as battle dressings.
2" tensor bandage to hold the BD in place. It can also be wrapped tightly enough with enough turns to be a tourniquet.
    Polysporin antibiotic cream.
    Betadine wipes.
    Bandages.
Aspirin to help prevent clotting when the A Fib gets me.
Nitro Glycerine in case it gets so bad that I'm starting to lose consciousness.
    Various bandaids and gauze pads.
    Tape.
    Sutures.
I should carry an epi pen in case someone needs it.

Simpler is better, except when complicated looks really cool.

Daysailing/short-range cruising where EMS isn't days away:

    Bandaids (variety of sizes)
4x4 gauze (can be cut smaller)
    2x3 telfa pads (ditto)
    3" Vetwrap (coflex bandage)
2" Athletic tape (always seems to work better than FA tape)
    EMS shears
    Superglue (sutures in a bottle!)
Butterfly bandages (when superglue is overkill)
    3" Ace bandage, w/clips
    Tampons ("battle dressings")
Benzalconium chloride (antiseptic; doesn't sting, safe around eyes)
    Tweezers
    Asprin
    Ibuprofen
Vicodin (leftovers from any number of ER visits over the years...)
    Triple-antibiotic ointment ("neosporin")

I'm sure there's other stuff (I'm ex-EMT/WFR), but I can't remember it off the top of my head.

Shouldn't this thread be above decks? It seems a bit too important for The Bilge.

Don’t know. I bought the kit several years ago and haven’t opened it. Probably a bottle of brandy and a piece of rawhide to bite on.
