Default My 28 year old son is moving home next month.

    This is my middle son.
He is a high school teacher and he has the summer off so he said he wanted to spend the summer with us.

He is the one who likes sailing the most and I guess we will be going out a few times.

I promised him that I would not walk around the house in my underwear.
Now try to get this image out of your head.

No shame there! It just ties him in with 40% of his generation.

I'm glad I came of age when I did.

I think it is a lot harder to get started now than it ever was.

He is lucky to have your support!

Is his faded Obama poster still tacked up in his room?

My 27-year-old daughter is coming home to stay with us for five days in September and I am chuffed. My wife would be over the moon with excitement if she were to come to stay for a couple of months. She is very good company, and lives much too far away (Vancouver).
Hope for the best, but plan for the worst.

Good thing you kicked his younger brother out recently to make room.

Why on earth would you make such a promise?

I had not heard that term before, Nick.

At least her cousins and their spouses won't be visiting at that time. I just sit and smile when that happens - don't have anything to add to the conversations, but I love 'em. (Two PhD's and five MSc's among eight 'kids' all under age 35.)

Nick, I got a shot over the bow for being rude but, of course I'm in someone's sights and have been so since I switched parties more than a year ago.. It was a bit over the line.

Has it only been 24 months or so?

Yup! When I posted stating this party change, I was banned 3 times in 6 months with a total of 4 months in jail starting in January if I recall. It's his right to do so but, I sense I'm watched more than a lot of others are. Just how I feel and connect the dots. As I've said, it's his right to ban someone if necessary.

My 3 boys are good friends.
My youngest son who moved out last year only lives 1 hour away.
So I expect he will come home a few weekends when his brother is here.

My oldest son lives in NYC and think there is about a 50% chance he will also come this summer for a long weekend.

My sons are close (blocks away) and we work together. We are a force to be reckoned with in the welding world. Surprisingly, we get along well enough to do Sunday/holiday meals and some fishing trips thrown in, even after all that.

They come by here and weld things for side jobs too. I mentioned to them that I noticed that they have acquired a taste for my Guinness. They said it goes better with my food than my water does.

I have 1 son (eldest) about 2 hours away, the rest are 1-2000 km away. We talk perhaps twice a week.

Thats nice. Not the underwear thing. Your son visiting for the summer. And sailing.

I say if you can't swan about in your underwear, the deal is off!

Sounds like you'll have a wonderful time. It's always good to hear about families that like each other, sometimes I wonder if mine's one of the few.

Thats great, I enjoy having our kids back for holidays, they were for the most part great kids and now they're even better as adults. We don't have to make that promise, they know we wont be wearing our underwear when walking around the house.
