Beautiful design...maybe some super rich dude will restore it. Looks like the stern is hogged.

Well I don’t think it’s a Hinkley. Or a Fife. And I doubt it’s a Herreshoff. But it was once a very beautiful boat.

I suppose that wreak was fixable when it was parked there. I see ads that the reclaimed will remove the boat for the lead ballast. Other wise that's going nowhere.

There looks to be a few bronze winches and the ballast can always be melted down. Not for that price though. Unless they delivered it as well.

C'mon guys - it's in Westport, CT - it probably belonged to someone famous!

Besides, a bit of paint & varnish & it'll be like new.

ETA: Was it maybe a NY 30? Portlights & length seem about right.

I have seen worse brought back! Such a project can keep a man out of the bars at night or drive him to one!

Does look a lot like a NY 30 but it stopped being a boat a long time ago. It is now a bonfire in waiting.

I could fix this boat. But it would cost someone at least 75k.

I have seen a boat that was worse than that, brought back from the dead.

Courtesy of the Albert Strange Association website. This is MIST, rebuilt over ten years by John Krejska of Woodbridge UK, who was, before his retirement, recognised as the outstanding shipwright in the area and this was his retirement project - it took him ten years...

Has anyone identified the boat? Very obviously a racer, and, I would say, built to the Universal Rule not to the International Rule.

Looks a lot like an R-boat. 38 foot? Length is about right too.

    Thanks.

Possibly a Q or 22sq. meter boat. Hard to see in those fotos.

You are right on that, I did not see the posting on the length and was guessing. Could be a Ted Geary R boat "Pirate" is alive and well but he built others. "Sir Tom" comes to mind.

Sir Thom no longer exists, but there were a lot of R boats built.

I think the next to last letter is a C, but I'm not at all sure.

I had a hand in the restoration of the R boat "Pirate". She is fully rebuilt. She had a lot of problems that we were able to overcome.
One of my favorite features of that boat is the circular fore hatch fits humans and sail bags equally well! So if that boat above is an R, "Pirate" would love to go a racing with her. Won't some one please save her?

I make the last letters as ...DELCE with space for probably 3 letters on the left to center it on the transom.

But I could buy ...DELLE, though the 2nd-last letter looks a little bent to be an L. But DELLE sound like the end of a woman's name, more likely for a boat.
