Default WB forum recommendation for boat shoes

I spend most of my day wearing boat shoes because I like the look. But I was not happy with the brand I was wearing. So a few years back I pitched the question to WB Forum. Naturally I got all kinds of answers many with pictures. But several of you chaps recommended Sebago Docksides for their serviceability. Well you guys were right. I'm still wearing my first pair. They still look great, very comfortable and hardly showing any wear. So thanks again WB forum- you certainly know your boat stuff.

I'm going to have to look into those. I have been wearing various offerings from Sperry, but I'd happily swap them for something more durable (and preferably wider).

What are you doing about it?

Joe- those are really goofy. I wouldn't be caught dead in those. Well maybe in California.

Dale I have one thing to ask, have you ever put a pair on ? They are seriously comfortable, wide, float and don't scuff decks. Although since I left Tidbit back east I've traded them in for a a pair of these -

I've tried crocs. Hate them. Lots of people love them. But Dale did say he wears boat shoes mainly for looks. Chuckle. Crocs ain't in the race.

Crocs have their place. I wear them on occasion. But the holes let all kinds of dirt and grime. Then your big toe smushes all that gunk in until the toe turns black.

Mostly, i wear sneakers. Boots if the fishing is real bloody.Bare feet when practical.

There are two kinds of boaters: those who have run aground, and those who lie about it.

You can get crocs without the holes. But I wouldn’t. You can also get them with a fur lining and just about every other possible configuration you could think of. Boots, leather uppers, sandals, flipflops.

Oh dear, oh my goodness! Oh Dale, your manliness is measured by your footwear now? Man you are good for a laugh.

    Wooden clogs of course.

Chathams cos I always seem to find a pair at half price, but really prefer Docksiders. Boots - no contest - seaboots are spelled DUBARRY. But the older ones were better.
