    Who's a popular boy, eh?!

Yeah what's with that? Everyone seems to be caught up in this fantasy of a seaworthy trailerable boat. Out there the waves are big. Really big. And the wind gets way strong. Maybe you can survive in a small boat, but it ain't going to be fun, or comfortable, or safe.

I think it's pretty self explanatory when you distill it down, although "fun" is relative and often retrospective. You could say very similar things about almost anything adventurous that's worth doing, like house building, bicycling on the roads, triathlon, hookah diving, cooking meals at sea...

When I first joined WBF they made me write a book to prove I was a real yachty. I was so gullible.

i don't think going out and braving big seas and high winds in a small boat is peter's point
what i do think is that peer wants to go sailing in his home waters, in a boat that he can affordably build in a timely manner; and for storage purposes and greater access to a larger body of water it needs to be trailerable

that said he admits that the waters he intends to sail can be dangerous at times and he wants a boat that will be safe in such

I understand what Peter is looking for, and as one or two others have said, I suspect his Jim, with a suitable cuddy, will pretty much do it. It's not what I'd call offshore capable, but should be good for coastal sailing, and able to survive if caught out. My comment was more about the others, the How about this 13 footer to cross the Atalantic crowd.

I don't do triathlon. But did you see that young woman who had a bad accident in triathlon training only 12 months ago, now she's smashing it in the para triathlon in the Cwth games? Amazing.
