Default Idaho - Kayak Sturgeon Fishing

Someone's a bit excited. <G> For a sturgeon that size, it's catch & release, anyway... but what fun to tie into that size beast. And from a kayak.

A fish that size (assuming 8' is correct) would probably weigh something like 250#.

Has anyone here ever caught an 8' fish... or a 250# fish?

My personal biggest was a 60# Chinook salmon as a kid fishing with light tackle from our float on Eld Inlet.

Nice fish! I didn't know that sturgeon jumped, I've never seen that before. His buddy could've shut up at any time though.

I would like to try halibut fishing from a kayak. I think that might be a good test of one's will to remain upright.

What's the long pole on the back of the kayak used for?
