Default Free to a Good Home: Classic in WA

I just stumbled across this in the local on-line boat rag, 3-Sheets:

MARY ELLEN DAVIS is a 50-foot (12-foot beam) bridge deck cruiser, designed by Ted Geary and built at Lake Union Dry Dock in Seattle in 1929. She was presented to Mary Ellen Weyerhauser as a wedding present from her husband Frederick Davis, the accountant for the Weyerhauser company at the time; hence, Mary Ellen Davis.

Mary Ellen Davis has a new owner who will restore her where she sits now. There was an overwhelming response. ...will you please... indicate that Mary Ellen has been adopted?

    Thank You for your assistance.

Nice looking vessel. Sometimes I wish I was rich and could afford to restore someting like that and gift it, along with a maintenance fund, to a friend that would enjoy it. I know just the man, he has a modest little place on Orcas.

    However...

Glad she found a new home, but think of the bookshelves you could get in there!
