Nifty little boats. And sailing where cars should be driving. You guys have had some crazy weather out there lately.

What is the learning curve in terms of steering? Similar technique to a dinghy...shift weight to leward to head up, pull the helm towards you to fall off?

Do you find that tracking is an issue, or does the chine have enough resistance when heeled that you don't slip too much?

From a construction standpoint, building a sailboat that can be sailed without foils is very appealing. Pop a used Opti rig on her and go to town (literally in this case).

    Good stuff

if you are a dinghy sailer or even more so a windsurfer sailing will be very quick to pick up.

the chine helps a great deal in reducing side slip but the oar is used more as a shifting leeboard than a rudder, ballanced against the sail to steer... except for when actually executing turns, then it's often used as a paddle to paddle the boat through the tack.

for proper punting form be sure to keep the knees slightly bent.

There are two kinds of boaters: those who have run aground, and those who lie about it.
