Is docking something this boat just doesn't attempt?

There seems to be a very broad line between admirable yacht design.... and incredibly BAD taste
"Reason and facts are sacrificed to opinion and myth. Demonstrable falsehoods are circulated and recycled as fact. Narrow minded opinion refuses to be subjected to thought and analysis. Too many now subject events to a prefabricated set of interpretations, usually provided by a biased media source. The myth is more comfortable than the often difficult search for truth."

Reminded me of Adastra which visited Christopher Harbour, here a couple months ago. I met the captain at Salt Plage and had a short conversation. I was impressed with the fuel consumption.

The Adastra's top speed hovers around 22 knots, giving it considerable get-up-and-go for a personal luxury yacht, while its fuel-sipping, 1,150hp Caterpillar engine allows it to travel 4,000 miles in a single trip.
Adastra is the 140' (42.5m) Trimaran lanched in China, and built at McConaghy'S Zhuhai Facility, China for a Hong Kong client for long range ocean voyaging. Designed by John Shuttleworth Design.

(Ooops - Rummy beat me to it...)

If speculative yacht design doesn't get your juices flowing, you could opt for renting the futuristic tri Adastra for a week in the Caribbean for only $80,000 USD per week (taxes, supplies & gratuity extra):

    Heavily.

FWIW, Beyoncé & Jay-Z recently chartered a yacht in the Carib at $400,000 per week... plus expenses & gratuity.

I'd like to see the cost per square foot of usable space and compare it against other designs.

Without some searching I can't tell if it actually exists or is just a very good rendering in the OP.I would be curious about exactly how one would move it around using the typical marina Travelift.

What's with the reversed rake stems and the unorthodox location of the amas?

John, it is a design exercise, not a real boat.

P.I., I suspect that it is all styling and little substance. There is an argument floating about in the tri-design world that having amas ahead of the main hull bow aids in quartering into head seas, but that argument was specifically pointed at sailing tris. I expect that this one was done so because it a.) looks cool, b.) is different from everything else being proposed, and c.) it sorta riffs off of three-point hydros, making the prospective client feel that he, too, can achieve those kind of speeds.

Thanks for the clarification.I prefer looking at real boats that actually do what they were designed to do-this one isn't a power-tri but it worked.Just as with one I posted a couple of moths ago the steering linkage is worth a look.

it needs to be all black for that.. with fold down panels for the guns. Maybe something can come up out of the deck from inside the hot tub?

One hot tub, and I cant tell you which one, is full of deadly jellyfish, with a very slow and elaborate lowering device for two people right above it that is tamper proof and never malfunctions. So you can just walk away from it with out bothering to watch people lowered into the deadly jellyfish pool while holding the world for ransome.
