Who posted here under the handle "clyderigged" (look up some of the tutorial posts), I learned the other day that his dad, Joe White, a USAAF B17 flyer, passed away at (I think) 93 years. I'm sure we are all appreciative of his service in our defense.

Fair winds and following seas. R.I.P., Sir.

    Condolences to the family.

Hope the voyage is a long one.
May there be many a summer morning when,
    with what pleasure, what joy,
you come into harbors seen for the first time...

Thanks for the head-up. We're FB friends, but I'd missed that.

My old neighbor was about the same age. Piloted a B-17 at age 19. Hard to believe those kids did that.

I think Jamie learned his knot tying skills, working at his dad's bikini factory. Great wartime service, a son to be proud of annd a ......bikini factory

    Fair winds indeed,
a few of us here have had relatives in the air services in ww2 and Korea.

What those guys did in B-17s, is hard to imagine. My hats off.

. I remember clyderigged's contributions as I'm sure a lot of us do. As you say Vince, they are great. Sincerest condolences.
