    Default New tool...

Found this at a barn sale on Sunday. I do not need it, not sure why I bought it.... but cannot resist a bargain or a new tool.
But here it is. A corner bit brace. Up til now I have only seen pictures of one.

That would drive me round the bend.
It really is quite difficult to build an ugly wooden boat.

I would have bought it too. Never actually seen one live and in person...

Likewise, have only seen pictures. Great find!!

a couple of months ago I saw (and could have brought home, if I pursued it) a right angle attachment for a brace. I had never heard of or seen a picture of one before.

my father had one exactly like it ........
he used it to run power and phone lines in our house he was building back in 1963.
(this was back in the day when "cordless tools" were pretty popular).
perfect for drilling holes in the wall studs and tight places.
that one appears to be well taken care of - I would keep it for ever and ever.

I found one about a year ago in an antique shop - it's now hanging on a wall in my shop - gets lots of curious looks & questions from visitors!

That is a great tool for putting limber holes in floors that have none!

Yes, it is a corner brace.
If it's an original, (ie old). it his a colletable.

However they are fairly common in these parts because they are still made for Washington Hydro. I've com across about 6 in the last year at fles markets.
