Miss seeing Chuck around here. Always wonder what he'd have to say about things today.

His early posts regarding his youthful adventures would be enjoyed by some of the newbies here.

He once mailed to me a box of 38-40WCF which he had no rifle to match. I keep a couple of PM's on my list that I won't be deleting.

Yep. He mentioned once he had an unpublished log/manuscript from Bernard Moitessier. I still wonder what became of that. It ought to be published.

What else would you expect from a kindhearted pirate? (Oh - rum - Solara Grand Reserve)

Thanks Ed for the post. I'm sure many remember but are just guilty (as was I) of not starting a thread.

I let the anniversary of Meerkat's passing go unmentioned. Shame on me.

Shame on me also for not returning your call. Email forthcoming...

He was the best, to be sure. I consider him to be a casualty of Viet Nam. He had a series of heart attacks, his condition complicated by kidney failure. In fact, the last few PMs in my box were discussing a kidney transplant, unfortunately he could not get his heart condition stable enough to do it. A true friend to all. I take comfort in knowing he was at last reunited with his beloved "Sweet Thang".
