I figured why not see what "wood boat" brings up in my local CL.

    A $600 surprise: https://allentown.craigslist.org/atq...447407948.html

And it’s already painted and launched, “ in the water” so to speak.

    Captures exhaust?

There are two kinds of boaters: those who have run aground, and those who lie about it.

cooling water tank so the engine can be run as a static display (that is your basic "ocean in a can" )

Not buying it. If I did I'd have to build a boat to go under it. But it sure looks ready to go if you had an appropriate vessel.

Ah, the last of the "Buddy Boats!" What a surprise to see that one still exists! And what good project for for one, who is blessed, with creative talents! Does the price include delivery? Is there a stove included to go with that stack? Are those fixed or hinged port lights? Wow they look like they are bronze! Your insurance broker will love you for this one!

Only my largest boat needs an engine, and it has one. That one would be too small in any case. When I was single, I had an air cooled jump spark single cylinder engine in my living room. Now I have a wife.

Jay, can you elaborate on “buddy boats” a bit? What were they??? Inquiring minds are curious.

"Buddy boats" were a design that was posted in Sea Magazine when I was a kid. My dad's business partner had one. His was both clunky and ugly! But, it had a special charm all of it's own! The one I am speaking of had a sailing rig and Roy Riley took many week end trips to Catalina Island in his. I haven't seen one in over seventy years!
