    Default driftwood/ found

I found this on the beach in Deerfield Beach Florida.
appears to be a rib of a boat.
    Can anyone ID it? IMG_6740[5344].jpgIMG_6738[5343].jpg

It has a resembalence to a grown floor timber.
It holds the frames to the keel .
Can you ascertain the species of wood ?
    Is there any metal left?

That looks a piece of the Haitian wrecks I've seen in the Bahamas. They are built of rough cut grown pieces. Some Haitians arrive illegally and abandon their boats. Others are clearly wrecks.

In the '80s there was a one-off gag mag "Yaachting". They had a story of a complete restoration built around recognizing the boat such a relic came from . . .

There are two kinds of boaters: those who have run aground, and those who lie about it.
