    Just metal...
Someday, I'm going to settle down and be a grumpy old man.

That's not "metal music". THIS is METAL music:

Not exactly metal, but I encountered this last night and really enjoyed it:

They remind me a little of Frank Turner.

What are you doing about it?

I've heard The Interrupters before - possibly on CBC. I like 'em.

Yeah, me too. Have you heard Frank Turner, Michael?

OH, man. Most exciting new rock artist I've encountered in a decade, at least. And perhaps the best live rock band I've ever seen. He's a fantastic writer and a magnificent performer.

We're heading to London for his four-day festival in May. I can't wait.

There are two kinds of boaters: those who have run aground, and those who lie about it.

Loudest band I ever saw live:

I've seen plenty of metal bands, but I'm pretty sure the loudest show I've ever seen was - wait for it - Bob Dylan. The system could have sterilized frogs at a hundred meters, and I'm pretty sure it permanently damaged my hearing. Perhaps not coincidentally, it was also the worst show I have ever seen. We got about 75 minutes of unrecognizable mumbling and zero interaction, and between the crap sound and the even-more-crap performance, most of the time you couldn't even tell what song he was doing.

What are you doing about it?
