Default Another request.... can anyone identify this design ?

I understand it was built built by the Rockland Apprenticeshop, I've emailed them to ask if they can identify the design but until then..... does anyone know ?

I think it might be a Murray Peterson design.

Oh, wait, built by the Apprenticeship? It might by a Peterson.

Here are some shots of the Peterson double ender the Aprenticeshop built:

So to my eye either the Aprenticeshop built a Nielsen, too, or the boat in the OP wasn’t built by the Aprenticeshop.

I remember sailing in concert one day with a little lapstrake sloop very much like that. Designed by Murray Peterson, built by Malcomb Brewer? The boat was kept and maintained at Joel White's yard. (It had an engine under a little bridge deck).

That particular boat was inspired by Aage Nielsen's small sloops (Primrose, specifically) but was designed by Kevin Carney, the instructor at the Apprenticeshop and as you say, built by them (on spec). I'm surprised he hasn't answered you.

Glad Dave had the tale on this one, I thought it was a lapstrake version of Murray Petersen’s “Old Gaffer” design, I vaguely remember a Sail magazine article about a millennia ago

They're all awfully close but Aage's design seems to have the flattest sheer and more rake to the rudder post.

Thanks for the responses ! Much appreciated .

Does anyone know if plans are available? I'm interested in another project and the little yawl I've commissioned from Antonio Dias may be a bigger project then I need.

I suspect I have found the inspiration for Murray Peterson's design , a Norwegian Faeder Snekke,
    https://smallboatsmonthly.com/articl...aerder-snekke/

    Færder Snekke Particulars

    Length 20′8″
    Beam 6′3″
    Draft 3′1″
    Sail Area
Main 118 to 124 sq ft
    Jib 70 sq ft, max.

but reduced a little to 18 feet and 30'' draft.

For another view, take a look at OCH's latest video about Bertram Levy, of Port Townsend, WA. He is building something very similar and speaks of the design in the video. Let's see if i can put up a link: https://www.offcenterharbor.com/vide...-bertram-levy/ you may be able to view it without being a member for a few days more.

Its about as usefull as your Jim Mr Sibley, but a Kittiwake Canoe Yawl has a wee cabin for not much more work.

I've looked at Kittiwake but it's a bit "toy boat " like for my taste. All I'm looking for is a foredeck to sleep under away from the mosquitoes.
