    I bet it charges faster than the small solar ones.

    It's an old ideea, I remember reading an article about some yacht that had a self made one. Hoisted it with the hailyard when at anchor. Simple to make to, just some S-shaped battens, fabric and rope, plus the PM motor and controller. But like any other Savonius rotor it lacks efficiency so it functions only if you have a lot of wind.

    But the wind can be from any direction and constantly changing and it doesn't matter.

    Sometimes efficiency is expressed in simplicity or as watts per $ spent.

    Very cool. If we had decent wind on Puget Sound, I would definitely be looking at one.

    If we had decent wind on Puget Sound in the summer, when I've got the boat in, I would definitely be looking at one.
