Default one of my favourite non wood boats

    Stratos, Evinrude 225
It'd run about 69 mph in a light chop.
Dude I sold it to, flipped it a couple weeks after buying it. . .

Simpler is better, except when complicated looks really cool.

He flipped the boat, eh? Were you surprised? I hope he and any passengers were unharmed. Look at how much of the boat is actually in contact with the water. A triangle that is maybe two feet wide by three feet long? No directional stability, no transverse stability, and lots of hull area exposed to air movement and wave impact. What could possibly go wrong, eh?
Hope for the best, but plan for the worst.

When I first read 'flipped it' I thought Paul meant 'sold it for a profit'.

Is someone actually driving that beast? Maybe it's my computer, but I barely make out a driver! Hunkered down against the 'breeze' I guess.

This is something I have never understood. I love to go into a stream about 30 or 40 feet across and throw fly line in the quiet day. Racing across a lake and then trying to catch fish here, then there, then... makes no sense to me.

It's not my cup of tea either. Here on Lake Guntersville they have large bass tournaments. They race out to their favorite spot, fish and try to come back quickly with the largest catch or whatever, hence the large motors. I hope the dude who flipped his boat was not hurt.

Yeah, Forrest Wood, father of the modern bass boat, a genius marketer. Ya gotta have a metal flaked boat, tons of gear and lot's of horse power to catch those hawgs.

Looks like the driver fell out on the last turn.

    My favorite non-wood boat:

She is in dry dock because she was iron built and could not be "coppered", so she dry docked twice a year for a haircut and shave. She was the iron sister of the composite clipper "Thermopylae". Both were owned by the Aberdeen Line designed by an amateur, Bernard Waymouth, whose day job was Secretary to Lloyd's Register of Ships.

Isn't she just gorgeous! Dark green hull, white line, red antifouling, cream painted masts. And a formidably good crew.

Yep. Makes it self-tending when tacking.
