Das ist sehr interessant, und da es von Bosch ist, sollte es gut gebaut sein.

Interesting and probably well built since it is Bosch.
I'm trying to get what tools I have to last the rest of my working days, however.
It's cool trying to figure-out what they'er trying to say in German! I think I understood some of it, much to my surprise!

Price of saw? Price of blades? How long do the blades last? Depth of cut?

There are other videos. You’d probably have to go to Germany, or at least Europe to get one, though.

Seems like it is meant for non-tool-users, still is way cool. https://www.bosch.com/explore-and-ex...in-big-impact/

You’d have to stay and use it in Europe, too.

I was under the impression that most American houses had 230V available. I only recall living in one that didn't.

Alas, but not 50 Hz. A 50 Hz motor running at 60 Hz would be going a bit faster.

OTOH, at least one of those tools shown in the OP has a battery...

If they catch on Bosch will be selling them world-wide soon enough.

Cordless has to be the way to go for every hand tool....are the blades/chain sharpenable? Bosch stuff isn't as good as it used to be before they went more hobby DiY oriented and where are they made? China ? I know when the chinese stuff is good its very good...BMW and Merc source a lot of stuff from China, but when its bad its awful. I'm guessing the 'twelve ' in the vid is a 120mm and the 50, likewise.

Here in the US Bosch doesn’t have a cheaper consumer line. Just the pro stuff.

Being green leads me to believe they are handyman oriented. It probably makes marketing sense to release cheaper versions first to gauge acceptance.
There is nothing quite as permanent as a good temporary repair.

What does it do that my Bosch saber saw doesn’t do?

    You can get that already:
Makita 7104L 10.5 Amp Chain Mortiser)

    Makita 7104L Chain Mortiser.jpg

It is pricey ($1,669.99 from Amazon), but it uses American voltage. I saw this on a YouTube video of a couple in Idaho who are building a timber frame house. Looked like a real time saver compared to hand cut mortises.

The green colored homeowner type of Bosch tools are not sold in the US.

Only if it's a synchronus motor, like a table saw or band saw uses. Smaller power tools use universal motors, to get more torque and will run at the same speed on anything from DC to about 75 Hz. Their speed depends on Watts, not Hertz.

I like the plunge into ply function. Anything bigger seems a bit too much for it.

I have read some reviews about this machine. Here is the short of it:
    1. It cuts well and fast, no vibriations, very easy to follow a straigt line, does a plunge cut.
    2. Can not follow contours, it is a straight line cutting only blade.
    3. Replacement blades are very expensive, 22-26 Euros for one. (The cordless one can be had as low as 84 Euros from some online vendors without battery, 100-120 Euros with battery or the other two variants). None of the reviews mentioned any posibility of resharpening the chain.

I leave the judgement to you, if it's needed or not. I doubt it will make it to the professional line, the declared goal was to make cutting easier for amateurs.

Yes, seems pretty useless to a craftsman, but that tiny little chainsaw blade is just so cool!

Well, more and more devices are 100-240VAC 50/60 Hz capable. Want my to have SWMBO Jr. pick you up one on her way home from Germany?
