Fired up and ready to go also
This was just sitting here running today and no one appeared to be around. Anybody know how to operate this thing. I think they were just making sure it didn't freeze up. It was where very few folks would see it unless they were delivering rice to the grain elevator and not any harvesting going on now.

Good little locomotive, sitting just waiting for its driver, obedient, well "trained".

Re: Fired up and ready to go also
Put the reverser in the Forward position at the first notch, bleed off the locomotive brake (assuming the train brake is not engaged) start the bell ringing, sound the horn since you're crossing a road and you should start moving forward. Slowly move up through the speeds one notch at a time until you reach desired speed. You will probably need to move a control (like the reverser) every fifteen seconds or so, or push the buzzer button to let the loco know that you are actually still awake and paying attention. Otherwise, the automatic systems will shut the power down and bring you to a stop.Comment

Re: Fired up and ready to go also
There's a spot near me where the tracks (used only to haul wood chips to a power plant) run behind a McDonalds, Wendies & a couple of other restaurants. Most every day you'll see a train sitting behind it idling while the crew grabs lunch. I've often thought of hopping in..."If it ain't broke, you're not trying." - Red GreenComment
