Default Gartside 101 Lofting panels free to good home in UK

I have just finished building a 10% Stretched Gartside 101 Design, now on display on his website ( I will try to append a picture).
The lofting is on 6 8 ' x 4 ' hardboard panels if any one wants them and about 300 pics of the build they are welcome . I am in the UK in Dorset.
    Best regards john

    Hi guys,
She (ALKA b) sails very well I have been racing her to sort her out as I finished her so late in the year. We actually got a bottle of wine in her first race as we won it! Later this was corrected to 2nd. The conditions flattered us but she sails well , the cutter rig means she does not point as well as a modern sloop. but we are consistently getting to hull speed of 5.8 knots as she has a lot of sail area and I have a featherstream folding prop. The sails are from sanders sails lymington and the main sets well without a vang ... there are times a vang would help on reaches but for cruising it will be fine as we can hook on the leeward runner if we have to, or run a boom guy.
I have not many pics of her sailing in sunshine yet! but I will add a couple of her sailing upwind if I can work out how to do it!
    Regards John

Simpler is better, except when complicated looks really cool.

Really like the look of that side profile. Looks a lot like a Lyle Hess design to me.

What a eye catcher! And very good craftmansship!
If I didnīt build a boat right now, I would order plans from Gartside immediately.
Thanks a lot John. your welcome to show off a little more if you like.
I would love to hear some more experiences with your fat head sail the next season.

This is such a tempting offer - I'm only just along the road in the New Forest, and its pretty much the boat I want to build. Only while I'd do mine as a bermudian cutter as well, I'd have a more traditional pin-headed main and a backstay down to a bumpkin.

Only problem is a shortage of space to build (and three young children who take up most of my time).

Where do you sail from? The photo of the boat at anchor looks like Beaulieu river, tucked in just behind the spit at the entrance? And the photo above that of the boat under sail - Poole harbour somewhere?

She is a stunner. I'm curious about the fold up side benches. Are those seats with a different section, like a wingback chair?

    Hi Moritz,
Well spotted.. I spent a lot of time making mock ups to get this right, I am 6'1" but can sit under the side decks, this makes the boat so much nicer inside , here is a picture which might show it better.

Hi John, first I have to apologise for my offhand way i started the “other” thread about this boat. I can see The practicalities but Ive maybe got too much romantic blood.
Anyway Ihave a question about your stretching the dimensions 10%. Did you do this with Paul’s help or just increased everything by that amount? I have plans for 116 and 109 begging to be built but being of an age.......

Well done, John. Looks like a great addition, nice cushions as well. One more question, are they directly opposite? Don't you tangle your feet with the person sitting across from you?

The seats are quite wide fore and aft so its not to bad! There is space under each seat for the person the other side if you get what I mean!

    Hi Andrew,
The station spacings are 10 % longer but I have also raised the Gunwhale and Bulwark rail so the side elevation of the boat is exactly the same as the plans just 110 % in x and y axes.... But the boat is the same beam. One has to be careful with lofting the extra height but its pretty obvious what to do in the lofting stage. I then redrew the boat in Acad to get the rig right because you cant scale that by 110 % as the boat does not have enough righting moment. It works out that the Ballast and sail plan area increased by about 105%.
Given by how the boat sails it all seem to have worked!
I discussed the stretched design with Paul but he was busy at the time so did not redo the plans for me.
    Hope That Helps
    Best regards John
