Default Oselvar - Norwegian Hordaland double-ender from Os

For those of you who read Norwegian (nynorsk), a superb book about the Oselvar was published last year. Many of you may know of Oselvar inspired boats - Atkin´s Valgerda, Oughted´s Elf/Elfyn, etc.

Alas! I shall have to wait for the English version! Although I could probably struggle through the Norwegian, I'd miss the subtleties.

Access to some pages of the book:

    One of these pages:

That Halsnoy boat is a lovely bit of craftsmanship, it is also interesting that apart from the sewn construction compared with the winged stems and clincked nailing the 500 year later Gokstad is so similar in shape.
I'd hate to row the Oselver two up, too close coupled. We need Lagspillers opinion on how typical she might be.
It really is quite difficult to build an ugly wooden boat.

Are those hand holds in the stems?
There is no rational, logical, or physical description of how free will could exist. It therefore makes no sense to praise or condemn anyone on the grounds they are a free willed self that made one choice but could have chosen something else. There is no evidence that such a situation is possible in our Universe. Demonstrate otherwise and I will be thrilled.

This is how they make use of what seems like hand holds: https://get.google.com/albumarchive/...JyNr9Hbttzt_gE
