Default Suing Remington over Sandy Hook

I wish them all the luck. But if federal law doesn't allow for suing weapon makers, I can't see what the local state supreme court can do about it.

I bet it's been tried. Overweight mom sued McDonald's over her son's obesity. Supposedly they ate 99% of their meals there.

And, your beer belly! It was your decision to drink more beer than you should. Those killed at Sandy Hook had no choice. Try to see the difference!

    That's bizarre!
I thought anyone could sue anyone for anything in the US?
Stay calm, be brave....wait for the signs. Possibly precariously prevaricating.

well, i wasn't referring to SH. i was referring to the suing of mcd's. as to SH suing remington, of course they're looking for free money. they COULD sue for next to nothing damages if all they wanted to do was make a point. are they only looking for free money? i would say no. but either way, they have zero legs to stand on.

And you were wondering if you can sue for your beer belly! Same idea which I posted an example where one actually did.

Sue for what? False advertising? Did the weapon not kill enough people? Looks like the buyer's expectations were met and he got what he paid for.
There is no rational, logical, or physical description of how free will could exist. It therefore makes no sense to praise or condemn anyone on the grounds they are a free willed self that made one choice but could have chosen something else. There is no evidence that such a situation is possible in our Universe. Demonstrate otherwise and I will be thrilled.

Now, lawyers claim gun manufacturer Remington knowingly marketed its version of the AR-15 assault rifle to a high-risk group of young men, including shooter Adam Lanza.

In a brief submitted to the Connecticut Supreme Court, attorneys representing 10 Sandy Hook families contend that in order to boost sales, gun manufacturer Remington targeted a "younger demographic" by "linking the AR-15 to macho vigilantism and military-style insurrection."
I wish them good luck, but it seems to me like a very thin case. There would be an easier time suing if the gun malfunctioned and the kid was unable to kill all those children.

    It isn't a 2nd amendment issue.
No one is contesting the citizen's right to bear, they're merely asserting that the manufacturer is responsible for the citizen's (mis)use of the product.

That assertion may or may not be valid, but it isn't a 2nd amendment issue.

How many Table Saw Injury Law suits have there been? There's a whole Industry related to this: http://downtownlalaw.com/product-def...ury-attorneys/
May be a stretch in reference to guns , but I bet it's a significant number.
Misuse, doesn't seem to be an impediment to filing suit against the manufacturer.
Any good Lawyer could build a case, and get a significant settlement.
