    It has been awhile.

Courtesy of XKCD. Keeps reading—it's long and the good bit is towards the end.

if we only had reliable data from before telegraphs, it's very possible that the line before telegraphs is a wave form just like the curve we are on now, apparently average wold wide temps can fluctuate greatly with little perceptible results to average human experiences, as we are seeing currently, weather patterns in Massachusetts and around the world while showing possible affects of warming are fairly unaffected.

and we have only been keeping a close eye on the polar regions with any sort of scientific specificity for 100+- years... since the telegraph.

    No it isn't possible.

Not in the slightest bit possible.

    You won't support your statement.

Not in the slightest possible bit.

    Because you can't.

    It is not possible.

So, as I read it, weíre fine.

Itís just part of a natural cycle.

I havenít noticed anything unusual about the weather around here. Itís cold today, so how about global warming?

If all that ice melts, itíll just cool the oceans back down. Relax.

Look, for the last 6000 years, things have been fine. Everything was made exactly as it is, and itíll stay that way.

I tried to do a doodle, but I ruined it by dropping salt water on it. Not the good kind.
