    Default Modern Muscle Car

There's a new muscle car in the house. It's time we got the low down on it. How about it? You know who you are!

    Yeah, I guess it’s okay.

I once owned four early Cadillacs.
I won the bid at a tax auction and got the land into which the Cadillacs were sinking.
I later had them hauled off for scrap metal.

25 mpg? Someone needs their bumps felt.
It really is quite difficult to build an ugly wooden boat.

Wouldn't it have been easier to finish the bathroom rather than buying a fast car so you could drive to your neighbors to use theirs?

I love it, Katherine, but somehow a Dodge Charger and the words '4 door' should be mutually exclusive. Just saying ...

Other than burning rubber in the Wal-Mart lot, what do you do with 485HP? Perhaps you can tow a double axle trailer.

With a towing package of around 1000 lbs.

I would recommend this behind it.

I built the car the way I think they probably gave it to you and came up with a $51K tag. Sound about right? Good perc!

It will be fun to see if it really gets the claimed fuel consumption.

A friend of mine had a 1966 Plymouth Barracuda with the 273 Commando engine. Claimed was 285 SAE HP, which were very optimistic in those days. However, it went really well, and actually got pretty decent fuel consumption. I remember on a trip between Alexis Creek to Cache Creek in BC, averaging 75 MPH with blasts to 100 to pass the trucks, it got 22 MPG imperial. That isn't too bad for an old car on a twisty highway running with 3 people and luggage at high speed. Can Detroit do better now? I sure hope so.

The new car is carrying roughly 1400 extra lbs, so they could be doing far better but still only match the mpg of the cuda.
