The Huron cruiser from Moores, but planked ala Kirkpatrick. No hardwood stems, planks follow shear line and weave together on the bottom.

Shortened a few inches to about 15'6" so my 16' planks will be sure to reach.

$.02 S glass for interior or exterior where varnished clarity doesn't matter is worth it.

Leeg, pretty sure what I have on hand is e-glass. This project is about three years old, the moulds were made, planks ripped, seats and thwart blanks put together...then life intervened. Just set the moulds up last week...

Darn that life. I have a bit of a fetish for S glass. Two yards of 6 oz s glass might cost $30 but it's noticeably better than e-glass for abrasion and tensile strength. Just a layer below the waterline will make a difference for dragging over rocks.

Curly maple, been gathering dust for a couple years. Time to glue them up and prep for caning...

Some people pride themselves on "stapleless" strip planking.

I use my patented "staplefull" style. Also wallboard nails, I don't even curr.

Very cool. Love the pattern as the strips join. Oofa.

Did you cut the strips yourself, or buy them?

If you look closely, you will saw marks on some of the strips, pretty sure he got them out himself.

    Thank youse.

It ain't Ledger's catboat, but it does have its simple, low key pleasures.

And yes, I rip the planking out on the table soar. Don't forge my own staples, though.

I think a public apology and a fine should suffice...

Are you filleting inside the stems to compensate for the lack of an apron?
It really is quite difficult to build an ugly wooden boat.
