Certainly, Repubs since Nixon have blundered. But they also have accomplished many good things-- creation of EPA, fall of communism, appointment of a first black woman as sec of state ( Condi Rice)--and without even trying hard to make a list, I can refute your dismissive and absolutist statement.

    But carry on.

The EPA was created BY Nixon, not after.

I'm pretty sure the Republican Party did not single-handedly cause the fall of Communism.

Condi Rice was such a complete toady to Big Oil and MIC war-profiteering that her sex and skin tone are hardly significant.

Unfortunately, the right has very effectively been the tool that has begun dismantling the EPA. If it was Nixon's baby, it will be Trump's infanticide.

I also take some issue with the notion that Republicans were responsible for the fall of Communism, by which I think you mean the dissolution of the Soviet empire in eastern Europe. That was considerably more complex than can be simply put up to Reagan's friendship with Gorbachev (and the failure to identify some of the USSR's mistakes that we are now repeating ourselves). This includes the historical independence of the Baltic states, the occupied eastern bloc countries and Ukraine. Had the Soviet system served its people or been a willing amalgam of like thinking minds, it never could have been dissolved. As always, it fell in no small part due to its own failures.

Granted, one must allow that Gorbachev is bitter about what he describes as the democracies' hands in ushering in the new era rather than allowing his reforms to take effect.

I have no trouble believing wrong doing isn't strictly a Republican trait.
there are obviously people here who believe absolutely that wrong doing IS strictly a republican trait...

    Were you attacking me, personally?

    I hadn't noticed.

Your resentments against intellectualism belie your own intellectual aspirations.
