What a lovely boat - I can see the appeal Rob, she looks like she’d fit the bill beautifully. I can’t wait to see you get started on her, I got to here:

    anything since??

The only thing that I didn’t care for in any of those photos was the precarious looking trailer set up, I reckon you’d come up with a much better and more secure arrangement - do you still have the truck/camper/4wd thing with the front tow bar? I’ve forgotten what it was.

Greg , I've sold the "Mud Crab" Mitsubishi Canter Camper with the front tow ball , but yes , the trailer is more than precarious , we would have to look at that seriously.
I really don't know how you would do it , or what area of the boat you would support , particularly if we go electric.
The issue though seems to be whether Tim will sell me the plans.
Yes , I got a positive post , and then a not so much post.
I've posted back , and he is still non committal .
The issue seems to be that I'm in Australia.
I'd have her moored in Williamstown probably , or around Chelsea , and just go sailing with the kids or their spouses , or the grandkids , and do a bit of trolling. It would give me a reason to go down there to visit (I hate cities).
I'm also making SOF kayaks and canoes for them .
On hold at the moment , while we find a new place to call home.
    I've got everything crossed !.

Good luck with it Rob, and everything crossed for you to find a new place quickly.

    Thanks Bruce.
There are more places coming on the market , being spring , but we are running out of time.
I really like the boat , and I think I'd be able to handle her ok , even with crook shoulders.

    This is of interest.
Not so much the boat , which is nice enough , but the auxiliary power http://oceanvolt.com/testimonials/ly...ctric-catboat/ .

    Well , if I can't have a Gardner L3 , I'll have silence Peter.
But more than that , just an instant high torque low revs response would be good.

Some diesels I like listening to, a friend has a twin cylinder 20 hp Yanmar / Lister clone in his boat. 1200 rpm max, but he runs it at 8 to 9 hundred. Very restful!

    Yes , I agree Peter.
There are lots of very sweet sounding diesels I'd like.
But they mean a bloody big boat too.
I like this little boat , it could get me time on the water with the grandkids , and I could do a bit of trolling too , easily , in most any weather.
Particularly if I'm motorsailing/trolling , I think the electric would make a lot more sense than a fast idling diesel.
