So good to hear! I was hoping that Denny and I will be able to come and impose upon your hospitality for a few hours sometime and now that seems much more likely!

I haven't started yet, chemo fatigue has slowed me a bit but if my next MRI comes up clear I'll reconsider.

Peter, as a result of this thread, I did a bunch of Googling about GBM4, and was surprised, and pleased, to read that there are many examples of people living long beyond their doctor's initial estimates of 'time remaining'.... including several who were first diagnosed in 2006 and 2008, had the usual surgery/radiation/chemotherapy, and are asymptomatic today. Perhaps the disease is not 'beatable' in the conventional sense... but it seems clear that it's not automatically a short term sentence.

So it goes, with other forms of cancers. My Mom was operated on for colon cancer 13 years ago, and was presumed 'cured'... until the cancer recurred this past May, and she passed away. Those 13 years were wonderful ones, and she had just reached her 93rd birthday the week before she passed.

As is often said, none of us get out of here alive.... but every additional week, month, and year is a blessing... and my hope is that you have many additional weeks, months, and years, before your ticket is up. Best of luck to you!

Funny, Peter and I are at similar stages with consecutive boats. Both have one about to go on a trailer, and both are dreaming of gaff yawls next.

Thank you for the inspiration, Peter. And the plans. Wood drying shed was "completed" yesterday, so I can start snickering wood in the next few weeks...

    Peace,
    Robert
