Smile Back from a time warp!

So where was I for the last 8 years?
Unfortunately I had been brain washed by some some prescription drugs.
These pills had been prescribed by a Doctor to help against depression.
Some 18 weeks ago I decided to read the leaflet that comes with the pills and realised that my various illnesses could be caused by the side effects of these pills.
So, I rebelled and said that I would not take the pills again, at least for a trial period. I was warned not to do this.
My trial period is up and I will never take them again.
Maybe I have just given myself a placebo affect, so what?
Yes I have disabilities but I am not disabled yet.
    How old am I now?
I do have difficulties with the numbers but, I know that there is an eight and a one in it.
    It can't be 81 so I must be 18 and that's it.

Good decision by the sounds of it. But do go see a doctor if you get wobbly. What was the drug?

Welcome back Rex; I wondered what had become of you.
Hope for the best, but plan for the worst.

Welcome back indeed Rex, I've been enquiring after you on and off for some time. Even sent a letter to the post master on Bressay. BTW, are you still there? I heard you have become a Luthier, is that true?
Re prescription drugs, I think that an undestanding of side effect is beginning to filter through now that pharmaceutical companies have to acknowledge those effects, and as a result of social media.

Remember how hot it was in Goolwa? Well after several hotter years they have moved the show to late March.

    Welcome back!
There is nothing quite as permanent as a good temporary repair.

Thanks for the welcome back every one.
Sku! Did I ever thank you for your hospitality when I was last over there?
Give my regards to your wife and sister etc.
Has the water shortage in Goolwa been diagnosed as a permanent happening or a blip?
Have you seen Hendric the singer and his partner Annie, they had the large Iain Oughtred boat. On the day of the sail parade they were looking for me to help them sail it. Goolwa was the first time that boat had seen waterI had some laughs with them.
    Have to rush.
    Be back later.

Sister is now living in Adelaide again, wife is fine, rain finally came and made some difference to the lower lakes, but the flows are no where near enough to repair the environment that was. We now live down the east coast of Victoria near Phillip Island. I haven't been to Goolwa for a few years now, we have our own 3 day Vintage Wooden Dinghy Regatta at my local yacht club and its getting bigger, then there's Hobart WB show in early February which takes 4-5 days away, then regular sunday club races and then a couple of ski trips in winter. Goolwa is a step too far.
I sail a 35 year old Sabre 12ft dinghy, wood of course, like this one.

and have a couple of other boats.
I have no word of Hendric and Annie I'm afraid Rex.

Be careful, I gave up my mild anti depressant and got a severe case of the black dog, even though there was an obvious connection, I did not realise it until a few days of the gloomiest thoughts.

I've known two other people now who did, and have been quite happy with the results. They say the anti-depressants - every one they tried - worked in the main, but the side effects were problematic. Sometimes the depression was preferable. They say thc works on the depression, and the side-effects are much less troublesome and worrisome.

Hey Rex, Welcome back! I have a year on you. So don't feel alone. I am happy to be above ground! As for pills, I took them after back and hip surgery. Didn't like the side effects so, I kicked the pain pill bum out! Hardest thing I have ever done! The world is much more fun when you can focus on it.

It must be nice to be 18 again! Good to have you back.
There is no rational, logical, or physical description of how free will could exist. It therefore makes no sense to praise or condemn anyone on the grounds they are a free willed self that made one choice but could have chosen something else. There is no evidence that such a situation is possible in our Universe. Demonstrate otherwise and I will be thrilled.
