Default Real men drink fruity beer

Not a huge fan of fruity beers, but I've had a few that were done well - not just a gimmick - that I'd drink again. Though I do like sours, which can be fruity. But I agree... drink what you like.

Maybe I haven't met the right fruity beer yet.

Nope. If I want a fruity taste, I'll drink cider. Or something you can garnish with a little umbrella. I've tried fruit beers, right on up to monastery-made framboise etc. Not working it for me.

Like my beer to just taste like beer, nothing against fruit, but not in my beer.

Huckleberry Cream Ale from Laughing Dog is highly acceptable. I've also begun to accept various citrus IPAs into my life.

In Germany we added a small splash of fruit syrup to a Marzen - I liked dropping a few fresh raspberries in the bottom of the glass. Yum!

Is it somehow 'un-manly', if I like Blue Moon, Shocktop, and similar beers?

Kriek, Peche, Frambois, grapefruit radlers - I could drink them all summer long. I particularly like them when I'm singing.

What are you doing about it?

Only if you forget to say " no fruit " when ordering......

A slice of lemon is acceptable in a Corona as it keeps the fly's away.....

This place is just up the road: https://www.facebook.com/oecbrewing/

They do some seriously creative stuff, all of it very good, some of it truly excellent.
Some of it fruity, some of it yeast-y.

Releasing this saturday, and I already have two friends from afar asking if I can grab them a bottle...

New Belgium Tartastic, lemon ginger sour has been my goto beer for paddleboarding the last two summers. Low octane and refreshing.

When you are only going to drink one and want it to count, Melvins citradamos is good, high octane and comes in a can, great rafting beer for when you are only going to stop once in a two hour run.

I've never been a fan of shandys or lienenkugels, had a grapefruit shandy from Lenny's at a softball game recently and really liked it.

i don't generally like fruit in my beer. not to say that i won't drink fermented beverages that have fruit in them. i make a nice blueberry mead and orange mead. i'll put plenty of citrus hops in the beer i brew this weekend. just no actual citrus.

There's a micro brewery, the Satisfied Frog (just up the street from the Horny Toad), just north of Phoenix that makes chili beer. Disgusting stuff.

That's correct...... If you are gonna hang fruit on the side of the mug, you may as well
stick an umbrella in it and give some yuppie name.....

I had a beer from Louisiana last year with papaya in it. It was good enough to go back and get another one.

Papaya in a beer? Where in Louisiana?

I like this one on occasion to round off a Sunday evening. Not strictly fruity, but Earl Grey has citrus, right?

Only the skin of the bergamot, not the juicy, fruity part, is in Earl Grey. Doe that count?

Don't care for fruity beers myself, but I guess they've been doing them a long time in Belgium. No one has explained to me why.

I bought it across the river in Mississippi. I see that New Orleans Lager & Ale (NOLA) Brewing makes one, but I don't think that was the one that I had. I can't remember the brewery now. That might have been it, looks about right.

My yachting mates in New Zealand were fond of shandy, which they mixed onboard using real lemons. I liked it.

Tried some of this the other day: not bad.

They also make a grapefruit shandy that's good.

Funny how tastes vary. I bought some of this once - for lawnmower beer. Gave 5 bottles away.

If I want to drink beer that tastes like citrus, I will buy a good West Coast IPA. New Belgium Ranger tastes exactly like yellow grapefruit juice.
