Don't know, Ian; I just saw the pic on the interweb and thought it pretty cool. I suspect shrink-wrap.

Pretty cool - but were it I, there'd be a nice life-jacket in that picture.

Tom Yost out of Colorado used to post on the kayakforum.com; he designed several SOF kayaks, both wood frame and metal/portable, and carried one on his BMW touring bike. I haven't built one - yet. But it'd be handy.

    Body Sail (LINK)

    Body Sail
    US Patent Issued In 1973

Hey, owning a boat can be expensive, just ask my brother (sorry guy). Their cost of operation, maintenance and those embarrassing boat tows back to the dock can be detrimental to nautical pleasure. But now anyone on any budget can enjoy sailing with the Body Sail, where you become the vessel! Form fitting floats are strapped to your head, midsection and feet, each equipped with a socket for your tiny sail's mast. The face-up orientation is great for watching the clouds go by but remember that real boats have the right of way so aquatic snoozing can be hazardous to your health.
